Either 1N4004 or 1N4007 diode can be used for the door strikes in order to work with the EYEONGATE system.

Open the following ports in both router and Windows Security Centre.
3306 - for Database and Eyeongate server at different network over internet
9900 & 9901 for ACU and Eyeongate server at different network over internet

3. How about if I set the activation time to zero?

Zero activation time means it is being activated forever

4. The whole Eyeongate system is not working after power-down. Why?

It might be due to the battery on the mainboard which has been run out. Make sure that the current time of your computer (in which the Eyeongate server is installed) is correct and then do synchronization once in the Eyeongate Setup.

5. Would I loss all the existing settings when I upgrade or reinstall the Eyeongate Server software?

No, all the existing settings in the Eyeongate Server will not be erased when upgrading or reinstalling the Server software as long as the Database is not corrupted or reinstalled.

6. What is the maximum distance between ACU and I/O board?

The maximum distance between ACU board and the last I/O board is about 500 metres.

7. What is the maximum distance between I/O board and card reader?

The maximum distance between I/O board and card reader is about 184 metres.

8. Could anything be installed directly to the Output of the I/O board?

No, If the device uses power larger than 36V, it is better to use a relay to protect the I/O board.

9. Could one card be in two or more different groups? How to do that?

Yes, one card can be in more than one group.
Case (1). For an existing card, use the search to find out the card. Click to high-light it and select the groups it will be in. Then click the button "Apply" to modify.
Case (2). For a new card, swipe the new card against the card reader which can verify cards/keys. Check "Active" and put a name. Then select the groups it will be in and click "Add".
Finally, upload to ACU.

10. Why I can't add multiple cards which are in consecutive numbers to a new group?

It might be because one or some of cards in the multiple cards have been registered in other group before. Use search to find it/them out and delete it/them before adding multiple cards. Read the answer above for one or some of cards to be in more than one groups.

11. How could I back up or transfer the setup data?

It is done by copying the whole folder "Data" which locates at C:/Program Files/EyeonGate/MySQL/

12. I can't run the Eyeongate Report. Why?

At the very first time to run the Eyeongate Report, it is necessary to execute a file mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.12-win32.msi which is at C:/Program Files/EyeonGate/EYEONGATE Server 1.4.4/

13. Why I can't upload card holder pictures in the Setup program?

It requires uploading both small and big pictures at a time. The small picture should be at 60x40 pixels while the big picture should be at 150x100 pixels.
