1. I visited your Eyeonet Live Demo before but I can't access it with my web browser anymore now. Why?

This may be due to the version difference of DVR software. The current version of the Eyeonet DVR program is 5.1.4.0. Try to delete an ActiveX file called "WebDvr3 class" in the location of "C:/Windows/download program files" and refresh your browser to download the current ActiveX "RemoteDvr Class".

2. Which motherboards are compatible with the latest 32-channel (32x240/240pfs) and 16-channel (16x480/480pfs)?

3. This is my first time to visit your Eyeonet live demo but I can't see any video image on the login page. Why?

Please check if you are running Internet Explorer version 6 or later running on updated Windows 2000 or Windows XP. If so, you should go to the on the menu bar of the internet explorer and click to select . And then select and click the "Custom level..." button to enable an item "download unsigned ActiveX control" and finally click all "ok" to accept the setup. After all, refresh the web page and wait until a drop-down message asking if you want to install an ActiveX control. Click that message to install it and wait. When you see the grey screen on which video image is supposed to display, turns to black saying "login please...", type "demo" for the user name and "1234" for the password and press button.

4. Could I install the Eyeonet DVR software of version 5.1.4.0 in the latest Windows Media Centre?

No, the current version 5.1.4.0 is not compatible with the "Windows Media Centre".

5. I installed the Eyeonet DVR server software and I have activated all cameras in the setup but there is still no video image.

Please go back to the setup page and click on the "Device" page to check what video format (NTFS or PAL) is selected, which must be supported by your camera.

6. I can successfully install the Eyeonet DVR in one PC but I can't make it work on other PC system with some unknown error. Why?

Please check if the main chipset of motherboard is Intel and that of VGA card is ATI.

7. What brand name of router can be used for remote internet access?

Any one can do. We recommend Linksys BEFSR41 or Linksys BESX41 which is easier to open ports.

8. How many partitions should be created to set up a Eyeonet DVR?
|

It is suggested to create at least two partitions for the O/S and video storage respectively.

9. Is it ok to initialize all available drives for video storage?
|
 |
All available drives can be initialized for video storage except the drive in which the O/S is installed.

10. What graphic card can be used?

Any ATI graphic card can do.

11. How can I keep the existing video recorded on the hard drive when I re-install or upgrade the DVR software?

In the course of installing the DVR program, it will come up to ask what drives are to be mapped for initialization for video storage. All drives which have video files are marked with an asterisk. At that time, make sure they are on the right hand side and click the button to pass initialization process to keep the existing video files.

12. I get a message "Login failed" when I try to log into the DVR server by IE or DVR client program. Why?
|

Check if the login user has admin right. Only one admin can log into the DVR server at a time. Make sure the port 80 (by default) is enabled for HTTP and the PORT range from 9091 to 9112 (by default) is opened as well in the router.

13. As the POS text inserter is intrinsically built in the version 5.1.4.0, why I can't find it after upgrading from 4.6.0.0?

Well, it might be due to the existing old POS text inserter program which has not been uninstalled. It should be uninstalled before upgrading to the version 5.1.4.0

14. What kind of PDA is compatible with the PDA Client software?

The PDA client software can work on any PDA running Windows CE or Windows Mobile.

15. How big a video can be backed up to a CD or DVD?
|
 |
In version 5.1.4.0, it allows to use "Internal CD burning program" or "External CD burning program". The former can only work with CD media and support a maximum of 700MB video while the latter can work with DVD media and support a maximum of 1GB video.

16. How to setup remote access using a bell modem?
As long as the bell modem has Bridge mode, we can setup the remote access. Nowaday, only few very old model don't support Bridge mode. There are two new model "2-Wire" & "SpeedStream 6520" even support DMZ mode. For these two Modem & Router combined model, user can simply enable DMZ and point to the DVR server to setup the remote access.
